Jacques Likakambula Okongo

Since 2010, Jacques has led the Forest Inventories and Biomass Department. His work has supported the Isangi REDD+ project through both verification and validation audits under the VCS standard. He has also worked as the Assistant to the Community Engagement Department Head and supports in training staff and communities to implement the REDD+ protocol.

He is trained as an agronomist technician-engineer by the Higher Institute of Agricultural Studies at Yatolema, Tshopo Province. He worked as a botanical inventories at the Tshela Forestry Society (CFT) and Forest Resource Management (FRM) from 2003-2008. Through these experiences, he has developed in-depth knowledge in plant species identification, as well as the use of forest equipment including GPS, compass, clinometer, and dendrometer.

In 2009, he was the coach for the Professionalization Masters for the Science Faculty in the University of Kisangani, led by the REAFOR project.
