Emmanuel Alongoli Sindani
Emmanuel is an expert in forest inventory and reduced-impact logging. He has been working with the Isangi REDD+ project since 2010. He started as the Biomass team lead and has served as the Head of the Agroforestry Department since 2012.
Trained as an Agronomist technician at the Higher Institutes of Agricultural Studies (I S E A / YATOLEMA) in the Tshopo province, his work in forest inventories has been pivotal the Isangi REDD+ project’s VCS verification and validation audit processes in 2014 and 2020.
His aim has always been to support and empower the communities of the project area as they reduce the pressure on the primary forest. Walking community members through mechanics of the REDD+ programming and gaining consultation and consent (CLIP), he empowers them to stabilizing deforestation levels and take ownership of the alternative income activities and new farming techniques in the project’s agricultural plan.
